Steve in front of the stage

Steve in front of the stage
Tonight was Steve's big night. He had his Senior NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) Induction Ceremony. It was held in downtown Wichita Falls at the Multi-purpose Event Center (MPEC). There were about 600 people in attendance and we had a lot of fun. Steve's been in a Senior NCO seminar all week and this is the grand finale to welcome him (and the other inductees) to the world of Senior NCOs, also called the "Top 3." We both had to spend most of the day today at the MPEC for rehearsal (for him) and decorating (for me). It was a very special night and one of the most memorable parts of the evening was the "Fallen Heroes Ceremony." During this portion they mentioned five service members, one from each of the services to include the Coast Guard, who have recently died while serving their country. There was also an excellent speaker who was very inspiring and entertaining. Steve was given a coin with his line number and a very nice plaque with his certificate. All in all it was an awesome night and I was so happy to be able to share this evening with Steve. A big thanks to Blake who was a super-duper baby sitter. Also, Steve wants to make sure to thank all of our family for all of their support!
