Visit with Meemaw, Grandpa and Uncle Dustin

Saturday, we met Meemaw, Grandpa and Uncle Dustin in Shawnee, Oklahoma and had lunch and went to the mall. Then, Blake and Dylan spent a few days with them. I forgot my camera, so I don't have any photos of this trip. Steve, Abby, Jacob and I spent the night in the Hampton Inn and played at the indoor pool. It was like a mini-vacation for the kiddos. Yesterday, Steve and Abby went up to pick them up from Arkansas. They spent the night and Abby thought it was so neat because she got to miss two days of school. Everyone had a great time visiting. Jacob and I wished we could have gone, but I had to work and it was easier for Steve to travel with just one little one. Jacob wondered where everyone went when he got home from school yesterday ("Where are my brothers and sissy?" he asked). The kids have been lucky to spend time with their grandparents this summer.

Cute Sayings...

The other day it was pouring rain and Abby said "Mommy, this is a bad storm." Jacob said "No it's not... it's a nice storm."

Abby loves to spell things. The other day Blake taught Abby how to spell rug. So, she was telling me how to spell it "R-U-G" she said. I asked her "What does that spell?" She said "carpet." It was hilarious.

Since Abby likes to spell, so does Jacob. Whenever we ask him how to spell something he says "P-R-W-X-Y-Z." The first letters change, but it always ends with "X-Y-Z." Too cute!

Behind in my blogging

I am so behind. We lost the USB cable for the camera and I was hoping I would find it so I could post some pictures. Grandma visited us early in July and we had a very nice visit. Abby & Jacob had such a great time. Grandma even stayed with the kids overnight so Steve and I could stay in a hotel for an evening. We went out to dinner and had such a nice time.

Blake returned Sunday and the kids were SO excited to see him. They've missed him so much. Blake is taller than I am and I can't believe he is going to be in the 9th grade this year... WOW!

Granddaddy Jim and Granola are visiting us now. The kids are having so much fun with them. They've been playing games every night. Granddaddy Jim and Granola took Blake and Dylan to see Harry Potter on Monday. I am afraid when they leave Abby and Jacob are going to be lost without visitors.

Saturday, we are taking all the kids up to Oklahoma City to meet Meemaw, Grandpa and Uncle Dustin for lunch. We've had a busy summer and want to make sure they get to see Dylan before he heads back to South Carolina. Dylan is going to play football this year and has to get back for practice. We sure will miss him!

I will load pictures when I get the USB cable in the mail.

Mosquitoes and Rain

Princess Abby with make-up Grandma put on her.

Jacob playing catch!
Well, for the past two or more weeks we have had rain, rain, and more rain. When it isn't raining we've had mosquitoes the size of birds flying around. So, we've spent a lot of time indoors. Grandma is here visiting and we've been spoiled with her cooking and an extra set of hands to help out with the kiddos. She's been working with Abby on her "homework" of writing letters in her notebook. Abby is very ready to start pre-K, so we are shopping around for the best option for Abby. Jacob is his normal, crazy self. He, Dylan and Steve went to see Ratatouille and Jacob fell asleep within the first ten minutes. Jacob's new "favorite" thing is dinosaurs and he loves the movie "Night at the Museum" because of the big dinosaur bones. I bought him a cool dinosaur quilt for his bed.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th.
